Henrik Gagge was born between 1405-15 in Sk?ne province, the son of Niels Gagge and Ingeborg Clausdatter of the Taa-family. His wife was a daughter of Erik Nielsen of the Bing-family and Gertrud Pedersdatter of the Krumpen-family.
Henrik Gagge was married to Bing in 1435, wherein he appears the alongside his brother-in-law Mogens Eriksen (Bing), a later deed of conveyance of their inheritance in Assertorp Hovedg?rd informs us that they had a brother-in-law named Hans Nielsen. They had the following children: Anders Gagge of St?storp in F?rs district, and Erik Gagge, both born between 1440-50.
Henrik Gagge was a "v?bner" (esquire) and lived at the "hovedg?rd" (manor house) F?reb?k in Oxie district outside of Malm?, and had property in Kattarp in the same district. Furthermore, he had a "hovedg?rd" in Bjellerup in Torne district which his son's son Claus Gagge inherited. Henrik Gagge's coat of arms (V?ben) is not known, however it was probably the same as his son Anders Gagge, and thus a half Mill-Wheel and a Chevron (halv Kaggehjul og et Sparre).
The last time he appears in documents is in 1460, wherein he seals and acknowledges Ingeborg Nielsdatter Gagge's "sj?legave" (ecclesiatic donation) to the church for her husband and deceased brothers and sisters, i.e. she had a brother, therein called J?rgen Gagge. This Ingeborg belongs to the Gagge-family, which used the "dyrehoved" (animal-head: bear, or wolf) in their arms.
